Yesterday started off with a nice little walk into town to get some breakfast at this place called Poppycocks– since the only thing to eat at our house is cereal- and yes, that is really the name of the cafe. My Dad and Lucas ate the corn beef hash, my mom had eggs benedict with a spinach cream sauce (which Lucas tried and said was unreal), & I had the breakfast burrito. Mind you, I thought I was getting a tiny amount of eggs wrapped in a tiny tortilla; not the case. Mine was huge. It was almost more enchilada looking; however, it was still delicious. My mom ordered an oatmeal pancake for all of us to share because she heard it was too die for- she heard right.
After our breakfast, we walked back to our house and got changed into some workout clothes! We took Lucas to the Grottos to see the Ice Caves and the waterfall, however, the caves weren’t cold enough so all we saw was water. It was still beautiful though.
We trailed up to the waterfall and hung out there until my parents got back from hiking up a little further. I was not wearing the right shoes and frankly, Lucas and I were both hiked-out, lol.
We found a cool little edge to sit and hang our legs off of, which sort of became a funny story. So, we thought we would at least see or hear my parent’s come back down from their hike, but that ended up not being the case. Apparently, my parent’s came back down to where they left us, a couple of rocks down, and couldn’t find us so they thought, “Ok, they must’ve went back to the car.” Meanwhile, Lucas and I are hanging out by the water just talking and taking pictures. They get down to the car and realize were not there and my dad makes my mom trail all the way back up and find us; course, she didn’t mind much, she was getting her exercise in. So, 20 minutes pass, she’s yelling our names, looking in all the wrong places, and almost about to give up. All of the sudden, she trails up a little further and see’s this couple across the waterfall on a different rock and she looks down and there we are literally almost passed out asleep, lol. We were just so comfortable chillin by the water and the sounds from the rushing water were so soothing! As soon as we got to the parking lot, my dad rolls down his window and calls us Jabronis, lol. Good times.
Later on, we all got ready and headed to the Snowmass Rodeo! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to hang there long because we had dinner plans; however, the slack rodeo we stayed for was pretty fun! There was this game where there was a chicken cage that had a bunch of squares with different numbers on it and if you paid $5 you could put your name on one of the squares; then, which ever square/number the chicken poops on when they put it in the cage, they win $500, lol. I put my name on number 7 before I left so I wonder if I got lucky enough for it to poop on my square, haha! Oh, and I got this really cool amethyst necklace at one of the jewelry booths they had!
